Crazy DIY: the Retro Phone Charging Station

Published on 20 July 2010. No comments.

As any vintage phone enthusiast will know, good DIY skills can be pretty handy, if not essential, whether just restoring a damaged part of an old phone, or, in more extreme cases, modifying an old phone to work on modern telephone systems. And naturally, the older the phone, the more intricate the job.

We’ve nothing but praise and admiration for those who manage to do these things on their own, and so we are positively in awe of the person who managed the incredible feat of turning an old retro phone into a charging station for a modern mobile phone. Yet another example of enterprising individuals striving, like us, to bring back a little bit of bygone glamour to our modern telecommunications.

Follow the ten-step, super-detailed, photo-illustrated guide, whether out of pure fascination, or perhaps to learn a thing or two about DIY and home electronics from an obvious pro.
