Style and diversification

The mid to late twentieth century saw the dissolution of the major telecommunications monopolies, and the opening of the industry to an army of smaller private companies. This had a tremendous impact on the form and function of the phone, creating a huge diversification in their shape and appearance. It’s around here that we retires from the picture, preferring the clear elegance and simplicity of the earlier phones, to the technological advancements of later developments.
