Advice for collectors

The vast majority of genuine wooden telephones can now be classed as antiques, some of them even originating from the nineteenth century. For the avid collector these are objects of real beauty, whose exquisite form more than makes up for the space they take up – worlds away from the modern cellphone that vanishes into your pocket!

It is still possible to buy and collect these telephones, using sites like eBay, or by visiting antiques fairs and events. Collectors should be mindful that there are a large number of replicas out there, so here is a good article on how to spot an original.
